You do not need to touch the books daily. You need one consistent hour, on the same day each month, doing the same steps in the same order.
Minutes 1 to 15: categorize
Clear the review queue in your accounting software. Anything you cannot identify goes on a short list to research rather than into a guessed category.
Minutes 15 to 35: reconcile
Reconcile every bank and credit card account against the statement. If a balance does not match, find the difference now while the transactions are recent.
Minutes 35 to 45: chase money
Review open invoices and send reminders. Review upcoming bills so nothing goes late. Cash flow problems are almost always visible a month before they hurt.
Minutes 45 to 60: read the numbers
Print the profit and loss for the month and compare it to the month before. Ask one question: what changed, and why? That habit is what turns bookkeeping into management.
